As a CRH Company, we promote equal access to our supply chain for businesses of all sizes and build supplier relationships based on trust and integrity. We collaborate with certain suppliers to improve their social and environmental performance, helping CRH meet its sustainability goals. Irish Cement is accredited to the BRE standard for responsible sourcing, BES 6001, which provides a recognised framework for assessing and demonstrating responsible sourcing performance. In addition, we participate in the UNGC Spark programme, which supports large enterprises in engaging with suppliers on their sustainability initiatives.

Responsible Sourcing Policy
Irish Cement is committed to providing cement products for use in construction which are sustainable. We have developed a Responsible Sourcing Policy in accordance with the requirements of the BRE Environmental and Sustainability Standard BES 6001.
The BES6001 standard requires that measurable and verifiable performance improvements under all three of the pillars of sustainability (Environmental, Societal, and Economic).
The BES6001 standard has been prepared by BRE to provide a framework for the assessment of responsible sourcing and to give a route to certification of construction products, including our CEM I and CEM II products.
