Cement Mill 4 at Platin Works is a cornerstone of Irish Cement’s long‑term commitment to sustainable manufacturing and continuous improvement. Commissioned in 2008, this state‑of‑the‑art vertical roller mill enables the plant to maximise the addition of unburnt limestone in the production of CEM II cements, directly reducing clinker demand and associated CO₂ emissions. As the only vertical cement mill on the island of Ireland, Cement Mill 4 plays a unique and strategically important role in lowering the carbon intensity of cement production, while supporting national and European decarbonisation objectives.
