Graduate Mechanical Engineer
Irish Cement Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of CRH plc and has manufactured cement in Ireland for over 85 years. It operates two cement-manufacturing facilities, one situated in Platin, approximately 5km from Drogheda, Co. Louth and a second in Castlemungret, Co. Limerick. Production uses the most advanced, energy-efficient technology to create a range of high-quality cements to the highest Irish and International standards.
Irish Cement is offering a number of graduates the opportunity to join our three-year management development program. This role is available in both of our locations.
Purpose
This role involves working on large-scale projects dealing with plant maintenance and large-scale plant improvement projects.
Large Scale Plant Improvement Projects
- Involved in construction to installation of new machinery
- Involvement in commissioning of projects.
Plant Maintenance
- Involves working as part of the maintenance team
- Planning major shutdowns/ overhauls
- Responsible for a specific plant area during shutdowns
- Responsible for directing contractors on specific jobs/projects (in the particular plant where s/he is assigned)
- Improving plant availability, troubleshooting and successfully resolving maintenance issues in designated areas
Standards of Performance
- Awareness of Health and Safety issues
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Autocad
- Ability to take responsibility for and control large scale projects
Graduates will also take part in the CRH management development program, which will provide you with training and exposure to various sections of the business in order to develop technical, interpersonal, commercial and management skills. (www.itpcement.com)
Ideal candidates will be aiming for a 1.1/minimum 2.1 honours degree. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be a distinct advantage.
