From the completion of my MAMF apprenticeship I have concluded that this apprenticeship is a very rewarding and sought after trade. There are many different skills you learn from doing this course. By serving your time at Irish Cement as a mechanical fitter you work alongside a highly experienced team with a variety of different skills.
Being a mechanical fitter apprentice at Irish Cement you learn lifelong skills, such as welding, lathe work, pipe fitting, fabrication, rigging, gas cutting and are given the time and opportunity to learn these skills properly. As I didn’t like school, I especially liked doing this trade as it is very hands on/practical. As I am now qualified, I would highly recommend this trade to any person who is willing to be hands on and willing to learn as there are great career opportunities after Irish Cement.
